Top tips
Learn some basic coding early
I wish I’d started learning a bit of Python or JavaScript before the course—it would’ve made those first few weeks way less overwhelming. Even just playing around with simple tutorials online can give you a solid head start.
1
Get comfortable with problem-solving
Computing is less about memorising and more about thinking logically. Try puzzles, coding games like Scratch or Codewars, or even Sudoku to build that problem-solving mindset—it really helps when learning to code.
2
Organise your time from day one
Between online sessions, projects, and self-study, things can pile up quickly. Get into the habit of using a calendar or task manager. Trust me—staying organised makes everything way more manageable.
