  • Applied Science combines Biology, Chemistry and Physics, but with a strong focus on how these subjects are used in real-world situations. You’ll explore how scientific knowledge and skills are applied across different careers and industries – from healthcare and forensics to environmental science and engineering.

  • You’ll develop essential scientific skills such as carrying out procedures, conducting investigations and working with advanced lab techniques. In addition to core units, you’ll choose from exciting specialist topics such as:

    • Physiology of Human Body Systems

    • Microbiology and Microbiological Techniques

    • Electrical Circuits and their Applications

  • Absolutely. Most of our students progress to university, and we have strong links with institutions such as the University of East London, University of East Anglia, Anglia Ruskin University and London South Bank.

    Former students have gone on to careers in pharmacy, radiography, microbiology, teaching, nursing, anaesthetics and laboratory work – proving that a BTEC in Applied Science opens the door to a wide range of future opportunities.
